History
Historic District
Just two blocks from the City center and near local historic districts primarily developed in the second half of the 1800s, the 1924 Marlborough is a local landmark in its own right. Designed and constructed as a “mixed use” building by Kalamazoo’s best architects and builders, they used a plan type that today is only matched in much larger cities.
Evolution
The building’s residential and business spaces were early occupied by a broad range of Kalamazoo residents and business people, and its fate has turned several times in its nearly century-long life.
